Geographic information systems uses software to compute information depending of its geography. Its links each object on the map to a database record. A GIS software can find, in a natural risks prevention study for exemple, owners of parcels with more than 30% slope, far over than 1500 meters from main roads, and less than 100 meters from rivers. But appropriate datas are necessary: in this sample, we need the parcel file, with owners, a digital elevation model, the file of roads, and the file of rivers.
